I experienced my first snow yesterday night. On my way back from work it rained then change to wisp of snow flakes flying here and there. Unfortunately weather is not cold enough to sustain the snow, it melted when landed. Took a couple of pictures but none good enough to post.
I always thought snow is something romantic, a stuff of dreams. I always imagine my first encounter to be:-
- With a Leng chai
- Wearing thick winter clothes and stylish black boots
- Holding a transparent plastic umbrella
- Walking along the edge of some pine tree forest
- It's peaceful and quiet
Obviously I watched too much Winter Sonata, the reality of things was:-
- Walking with my very very senior portly colleague
- In the middle of a junction waiting for traffic light, terkepit kepit between smoking Koreans.
- Wearing a thinner black jacket, feet freezing in working shoes.
- Holding a frog umbrella, given by Moo
- It was noisy and wet and stressful
How come not romantic one. Despite all these, we 2 are like morons, holding our hands outstretched hoping to catch the flakes of snow. I also relize the tempreture is not as cold when it's snowing. So I don't really mind. It was an experience. Sir Senior said, I was so lucky to be able to still see snow at late March. So thanks to whomever is up there.
Before the snow came, I was actually going to talk about my mini humidifier However since it snowed, I recon it deserve mentioning. So I will talk about my actual post now.
I literally cough out blood on my Day 2 in Kimchiland. Gave myself a shock. Some more it's early in the morning when I was brushing my teeth. Woke me up like nothing. After that I went to see some advise from seniors. The general consensus was throat too dry until the throat lining crack. After that I observed a number of female colleagues in the office had a air humidifier on the desk. When they heard I vomit blood and it's not work related, they very kindly order a unit for me. Can only order from internet hor. Here internet shopping is very big. No wonder their shopping center so small, everyone just order from internet.

If you look carefully, you can see wisp of mist from the spout.
You just need to feed it a bottle of water a day and it will generate some mist, like what those mist fan in kopitiam. I am not sure if it helps my crack throat. I just know that mist makes my workstation cold especially it keep blowing on my hands no matter what angle I put. But as with all new things, I love my mini humidifier.
My lovely translator was also very excited when she saw my unit on the table, but for the wrong reasons. She gesture to the unit on her own table and said, " Hey you also bought one! Exactly the same as mine....but mine after 2 weeks kaput lio... "
Erk....
